How to find a city’s local time (step by step)

Whether you are planning a call, checking travel plans, or comparing clocks, the goal is the same: you need the current local time in a specific place, not just a generic offset. Here is a simple workflow using TimeZoneMeet.

1. Open TimeZoneMeet

Go to the home page. You do not need an account for a basic lookup.

2. Type the city (and country if needed)

Start typing the city name. If several places share the name (for example “Springfield” or “Paris”), pick the suggestion that matches the country you care about. The country code in the list helps disambiguate.

3. Press Lookup

TimeZoneMeet returns the current local time and the time zone identifier for that city. That identifier is what systems use to apply daylight saving rules and historical offsets correctly.

4. Interpret the result

“Local time” is what a person on the ground would see on their clock right now. If the offset seems surprising, remember that many regions shift clocks for daylight saving time; the app reflects the active rules for the matched location.

5. Optional: go premium

If you use lookups often, website Premium (browser checkout) removes ads and raises the suggestion limit. Sign in with your purchase email restores that website Premium in other browsers—it does not apply to the iPhone/iPad app, which uses separate App Store Premium (FAQ).
